One application
You file a single international trademark application in one language and pay one set of fees in one currency.
Easier to manage
You will have a single international trademark registration to manage and renew rather than multiple national and regional registrations.
Grow with your business
You can expand protection to additional Madrid System members as your business grows.
Important: You must be a national of - or have a domicile or business in - Zambia and have - or have applied for - a national trademark registration in Zambia.
How it works
From application to registration, here's how the Madrid System process works.
- Step 1
You prepare and submit your application.
- Step 2
We certify it and forward it to WIPO.
- Step 3
WIPO checks it meets all formal requirements.
- Step 4
The IP Offices in your designated markets perform substantive examination and must grant or refuse protection within a set time limit.

You manage and renew your international trademark registration through WIPO.
